During this one-day course at castle Heemstede in Houten, we will guide you first through the fundamentals of Behavioural Science. How do we actually think, and what are the traps into which our minds tend to fall? This will be followed by an in-depth overview of strategy concepts and Game Theory. 

By means of interactive discussions, real-life examples and group exercises, you will learn the best practices for countering biases in your strategic decisions.  We will also teach you how to design the best context for making strategic decisions. The factors of culture and incomplete information and examples of good strategy will be discussed at length.

Your teacher will be Duncan Rooders, an alumnus of Harvard Business School's OPM programme, a graduate of London Business School's MSc Sloan Strategy Programme, a graduate of LSE's MSc in Behavioural Science Programme and a former Boeing 747 pilot.

0ne-day training to learn the fundamentals of Change Management

During this three-day training course, we will focus on how the brain works when making decisions. By means of highly interactive discussions and exercises, we will enable you to actually feel the dynamics of the decision-making process. 

Not only will we demonstrate the theory of decision-making, but you will also be able to put it into practice in a real Boeing 737 simulator. You will occupy the left-hand seat of a jetliner in which different scenarios will play out, enabling you to experience the decision-making process first-hand. 

Before starting the training, you will receive a personalised questionnaire to gauge what type of decision-maker you are. We will then integrate your individual decision-making style into our programme, as well as talking with you personally about the outcomes of the questionnaire. 

During the first day, at our location in castle Heemstede, we will discuss the way the brain works when decisions have to be made, as well as the mental pitfalls for the brain and how to mitigate our thinking errors. There will be frequent group discussions and interactive exercises during the day. 

On day two, we will move to the simulator training location to discuss your personal decision-making style. You will be making actual decisions in the cockpit of a Boeing 737 simulator. Qualified flight instructors will guide you through different decision-making scenarios, so you can put into practice the theory you learned on day one. 

Back in the castle on day three, we will discuss and analyse the experiences of the previous two days together. To wrap up the course, a decision-making case will be presented to you as a group. This case will be aligned with your actual work setting so that you can experience the maximum benefit of the course in your own work environment. 

After the course, we can stay in touch with you if desired, to help you integrate what you have learned into your daily work environment.

3 day module designed to master decision making.

During this one-day training course at castle Heemstede in Houten we will introduce you to the fundamentals of Behavioural Science. We will analyse human behaviour together to see whether people act as expected or if they behave irrationally. Can seemingly dysfunctional behaviour actually be designated as irrational at all? 

We will teach you how to use these behavioural insights to better understand the dynamics between individuals. We will also focus on the dynamics within teams to improve the alignment of processes. General cultural and social preferences will be discussed and analysed together, as well as at an individual level in order to understand the dynamics that drive our behaviour. 

We will be using a special form of dialogue (the Socratic method), which will provide more clarity about the goals of individuals and teams. We will also examine the ethics and the beliefs underlying these goals. 

The outcomes of this training are a better understanding of stakeholder interaction, a reflection on the goals of your team and you as an individual,and insight into what drives human dynamics.

This one-day course will introduce you to the fundamentals of Behavioural Finance and how to improve your decision-making. We will not only explain the theory around how biases in finance work, but we will also focus on designing the right environment to prevent you from falling into  psychological traps around investing. 

You will learn about the most critical biases in your own field, and experience how susceptible you are to bias without even realising it.

We will also teach you how to counter these biases and what the impact will be on risk, incentives and investment management. 

We will host you in our beautiful castle, where we will teach you how to understand biases and therfore make better financial investment decisions.
